The HypoMon is a non-invasive alarm system that identifies sleep-time hypoglycaemia (hypos) in children and young adults aged between 10 and 25 years with type 1 diabetes. Developed by an Australian company AIMEDICS, HypoMon provides a safer night’s sleep for young people with type 1 diabetes.
The HypoMon non-invasively identifies sleep-time hypos accurately and alerts the patient and their carer when a hypo occurs, via an easy to use monitor and alarm
Why choose HypoMon?
The HypoMon:
Accurately detects sleep-time hypos
The HypoMon accurately identifies more sleep-time hypos in young people with type 1 diabetes than any other continuous-monitoring product available for personal use.
Is a non-invasive solution
The HypoMon Sensor and Transmitter contained in a secure, comfortable wrap-around Belt monitors the user’s physiological changes during sleep. Wireless technology transmits information to a Monitor that can be positioned anywhere within a 10-metre radius, such as a parent's bedroom.
If physiological changes characteristic of hypoglycaemia occur, the HypoMon triggers an alarms at the Transmitter and the Monitor, waking the user and carer.
Delivers a more comfortable sleep for all
Having confidence that the HypoMon will help detect potentially damaging hypos during their child’s sleep brings greater peace of mind for parents and carers. Both adult carers and young people with diabetes can rest easy, knowing that if his or her blood glucose level (BGL) drops dangerously low, the HypoMon alarm will be triggered and the hypo can be treated quickly, enabling everybody to enjoy a safer night’s sleep. A hypo will trigger an alarm in more than 80% of cases.
Makes monitoring sleep-time hypos simpler
The HypoMon Belt with Sensor and Transmitter is easy to fasten to the body and comfortable to wear during sleep. Once the user’s pre-sleep blood glucose level is entered on the screen, the HypoMon will monitor his or her physiological changes for symptoms of hypoglycaemia until the user wakes up.
Rigorously tested for peace of mind
Comprehensive clinical trials at a leading Australian children’s hospital has shown that the HypoMon accurately identifies more sleep-time hypoglycaemia than any continuous monitoring systems currently available.
NOTE: The HypoMon compliments your existing diabetes management. It is not a substitute for blood glucose testing.
